The deepest dive a person has ever made is 332 meters. This is a record set by a former Egyptian army officer named Ahmed Gabr in 2014. This distance is equivalent to three football fields from start to finish.
So any dive watch that promises water resistance to a depth of 100, 200 or 300 meters is more than enough.
None of us dives deeper than this.
But then people don’t buy dive watches to dive to the bottom of the sea, any more than people buy a Tesla to drive 260 mph.
The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver could thus become the Tesla Cybertruck of dive watches. This is an ultra-deep-sea diver, capable of diving to depths of more than 1000 meters.
It’s unnecessary and ridiculous, but also pretty great.
There are other watches that can travel the same distance. But not as beautiful as these.
These luminous green, blue and orange styles are achieved through the use of Super-Luminova, and the TH 30-00 caliber movement was produced by Kenissi Manufacture, which previously won the world’s top prize, the Grand Prix de Horlogerie. to Geneva and worked with Tudor, Chanel and Bretling.
The orange section on the bezel indicates the position most commonly used for timing decompression stops, a technical detail used in deep-sea exercises that won’t bother the rest of us, but looks great. The case measures a whopping 45mm, the helium escape valve is coated with a cool black diamond-like coating, and the power reserve is 70 hours.
Otherwise, all the elements that people love about Aquaracer watches are present and functional – the titanium case, the sunburst dial and the date window in its new position at 6 o’clock.
Lest anyone doubt the serious performance of this watch, it comes with a special shock-resistant flight case “that is as tough as the watch,” which includes a diving rescue light.
Convenient, no matter what depth you are at.
